Submit Your Design for NAIDOC Week 2025

Are you a young creative ready to share your strength, vision, and legacy through art?

To celebrate NAIDOC Week 2025Y Gear and the Y Design Program have partnered with WhyNot to invite young people across Australia to enter our annual Design Competition, inspired by this year’s powerful theme:

“The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”

This theme honours the resilience, knowledge, and cultural pride of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples — and invites us all to reflect on how these values shape our collective future.

We’re inviting young artists, illustrators, and designers to create a digital artwork that brings this theme to life through your own unique lens.

About the Partnership

Each year, we collaborates with First Nations artists to create a limited-edition NAIDOC Week T-shirt - celebrating culture, creativity and community. Partnering with WhyNot, a platform dedicated to amplifying youth voices, brings together our shared commitment to empowering the next generation and creating space for authentic expression.

Here are the previous t-shirt designs as inspiration:

What’s on offer:

  • Winner: $500 AUD and your design printed on the Y’s official NAIDOC Week T-shirts
  • Two runners up: $250 AUD each
  • All entries will be considered for publication on the WhyNot Platform, with the opportunity to be paid up to $150 AUD

Entries close: Midnight, 21 April 2025 (AEDT time).

This is your chance to celebrate culture, creativity, and community - and help carry stories forward through art.
